Mid-Valley Women of Christ announced its plans to launch a new communitywide Bible study during the week of Jan. 30 with 17 churches hosting the program, including The Refuge in Philomath.

“Encountering God” with Kelly Minter will be a six-week Bible study that unpacks the biblical foundation for sacred habits and approachable ways to practice disciplines — such as prayer, study, worship, rest, simplicity, generosity, celebration and many more.

“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for women in our community to come together and grow in their faith,” said Lagea Mull, Mid-Valley Women of Christ president. “We believe that ‘Encountering God’ will provide a meaningful and enriching experience for all who participate.”

The Bible study at The Refuge, which is located at 1947 College St., will run from 9:30-11 a.m. on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 31. The program will also be available in churches located in Adair Village, Albany, Brownsville, Crawfordsville, Dallas, Harrisburg, Jefferson, Lebanon, Mehama, Monmouth Salem, Silverton, Springfield and Sweet Home.

This year’s program will be the 31st coordinated and marketed by Mid-Valley Women of Christ.

The free interdenominational classes are open to women of all faiths with participant study guides available at host churches for a nominal fee. Classes also offer hospitality, small group discussions and prayer.
