Maxtivity, the Philomath-based nonprofit arts and crafts creative space, plans to hold two special events at Marys River Grange Hall on Dec. 31 — Noon Year’s Eve, a free family-friendly midday event, and the nighttime Mardi Gras New Year’s Eve Party.

Noon Year’s Eve, scheduled to run from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m., will feature STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities, games, raffles, light snacks and an item drop at noon. Food sales and raffle entries benefit Maxtivity.

Later that evening from 8 p.m.-12:15 a.m., the organization will host its second annual fundraising gala with a Mardi Gras-themed party. Monkey See, Monkey Duo and The New Iberians will be the featured bands on stage with zydeco, cajun and blues music among their genres. Festive Mardi Gras party attire is encouraged and there are plans for a costume contest.

A mocktail bar, Cardwell Hills Cellars wine and light appetizers will be served. In addition to dancing, there will be games and a photo booth. And at midnight, those in attendance can toast the new year with a glass of sparkling cider as a community-created art piece drops from a crane.

Tickets to the New Year’s Eve party are $99 for singles, $150 for a pair or $500 for a table of six and can be purchased online

Marys River Grange Hall is located at 24707 Grange Hall Road.
