The Oregon Department of Transportation announced that the Maltby Creek Bridge timber deck replacement project has been pushed back until the summer of 2022.
The bridge is located between mileposts 35 and 36, or about 5 miles west of Alsea. The project was originally scheduled to occur July 23-26 and was then rescheduled for Sept. 10-12. However, ODOT said materials needed for the timber deck replacement will not be delivered in time for project completion this year.
When the project does occur, the highway will be closed to traffic completely and motorists will need to go around using Highway 20 and U.S. 101.
