A local vineyard, Americanaesque music and New York-style sandwiches will come together Thursday, July 27, for Strengthening Rural Families’ summer gathering.
The event will run from 5:30-9 p.m. at Lumos Wine Co., which is located at 24000 Cardwell Hill Drive just outside Philomath in the Wren vicinity. A portion of the evening’s sales will benefit Strengthening Rural Families.
Mule on Fire, a band with members out of Corvallis, Albany and Portland, will play its Northwest brand of blues, folk, jazz and traditional music. The group, which released its album “River” last year, features George Estreich (guitar, mandolin, resonator, lap steel, archtop), Marty Main (bass), Andy Weiss (drums) and Matt Yurdana (vocals, guitar).
Food sales will be available on site through N’Reeners, which has two locations in Albany and also frequents various fairs, festivals and other events in the Willamette Valley.
Strengthening Rural Families is a Philomath-based nonprofit organization that serves rural Benton and Linn counties through a collaborative approach to promote the health and well-being of individuals and families through education, advocacy, coalition building and community connections.
