The city of Philomath will be busy with meetings early next week with the Planning Commission getting together Monday and both the Inclusivity Committee and City Council meeting Tuesday.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on island annexations. The Inclusivity Committee will take care of routine business and the City Council will reconsider the timing of when to place the psilocybin ban issue on the ballot. Various Benton County meetings are also upcoming.
Following is a rundown of all government meetings for the week of July 21-25:
Monday, July 21
- The Benton County Board of Commissioners plan to meet with the department head of justice and law enforcement at 1 p.m. in the Holmes and Shipley Room at the Kalapuya Building (4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis). The meeting can also be accessed online or via phone. See this webpage for details.
- The Philomath Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. at Philomath City Hall (980 Applegate St.) for an agenda that includes a public hearing on proposed island annexations. The city is proposing to annex 10 such islands, which are created when surrounding properties are annexed into the city to leave one or more unincorporated county lots. Tuesday, July 22
- The Benton County Board of Commissioners plan to meet at 9 a.m. at the Kalapuya Building (4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis) for an information-sharing meeting. See the agenda and full packet here.
- The Benton County Board of Commissioners plan to meet at 1:30 p.m. at the Kalapuya Building (4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis) to meet with city managers. For information, click here.
- The Philomath Inclusivity Committee plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. at Philomath City Hall (980 Applegate St.). The agenda includes review of an age-friendly proclamation, discussion about organizing a National Hispanic and Latin American Heritage event and taking a look at suggested updates for an inclusivity proclamation in 2026. - The Benton County Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. at the Kalapuya Building (4500 SW Research Way, Corvallis) for deliberations and decision on the Coffin Butte Landfill expansion conditional-use permit application.
