The Linn-Benton Community College Board of Education recently appointed Jeff Davis of Corvallis as the board representative for Zone 6-7B.

Davis will serve on the board through June 30 and will have the option to run in the May 2023 special election to fill the seat for a four-year term.

“Jeff’s connection to the Corvallis community and his passion for higher education is astounding,” LBCC Board of Education Chair Kristin Adams said in a news release. “Higher education is swiftly changing and LBCC needs to be equipped with diverse thinking and guidance as we look to continue our strong community connection. We’re excited to have Jeff’s expertise through this journey.”

Davis has been involved with Linn-Benton Community College since the 1980s as a student, volunteer, instructor, club adviser and most recently as an administrator before retirement earlier this month. His community involvement has included roles with the chamber of commerce, Leadership Corvallis and several other community-based organizations.

“This appointment to the Board of Education has truly brought my L-B journey full circle,” Davis said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to an organization that has been life-changing for myself and so many others.”

Davis replaces Tony Lapiz, who served the college since 2019 and resigned in 2022.
