Life Line Screening will host a preventive health screening event on Friday, May 29, at the Philomath Scout Lodge.
The company, which bills itself as a national leader in stroke and cardiovascular disease risk screenings, is offering a package of four tests for $129. The screenings include checks for carotid artery disease, atrial fibrillation, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral artery disease.
The screenings are open to anyone age 40 and older, according to event materials. Organizers describe the tests as simple and painless, with the goal of providing either peace of mind or early detection of potential health issues.
Appointments are required and can be booked in four ways — by calling 800-324-9458 using promo code HABC001, by visiting LLSA.SOCIAL/HABC, by scanning the QR code on event flyers or by texting the word “circle” to 216-279-1607.
Life Line Screening notes that the tests cannot detect all risk factors for all conditions, including the presence of coronary artery disease. The company recommends that anyone receiving abnormal results discuss possible next steps with their family healthcare provider to understand the risks and benefits of any additional testing or procedures.
As with any elective health screening, residents may also want to consult their primary care provider before signing up to determine whether the tests are appropriate for their individual health profile.
The Philomath Scout Lodge is located at 660 Clemens Mill Road.
