The Friends and Foundation of the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library will host its BIG Book Sale Friday through Sunday at the Benton County Event Center and Fairgrounds, the organization announced.

The sale, which takes place in the Solar Building, will be open to the general public from 4-7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. On the first day, the event is open from 1-4 p.m. to members and anyone who makes a $10 donation at the door. Online donations can be made on the organization’s website.

Those attending are advised to enter the fairgrounds from Reservoir Road and access the sale on the west end of the building.

Sales benefit activities and programs at all library locations — Alsea, Corvallis, Monroe and Philomath — as well as the bookmobile.

“Some of the newer categories at this year’s sale will include a special selection of Oregon authors and a STEM section where children will enjoy discovering hundreds of books about science, technology, engineering and math,” organizers said through a press release. “These categories are in addition to the popular table of books chosen as favorites by Friends of the Library volunteers.”

The sale will include thousands of fiction and nonfiction books for all ages, audio books, compact discs and DVDs, organizers said. Prices on Friday will be $3-4 for adult books and $1-2 for children’s books. On Saturday, prices will be lower and on Sunday, no book will be priced more than $1 and there will be bulk sales at $10 for a medium box.

Purchases may be made using cash, check, Venmo and most credit cards.

Friends of the Library is always on the lookout for more volunteers to help at the book sale. For anyone interested, inquire via email volunteer@cbcplfriendsandfoundation.org.
