To the Editor:

What a wonderful, caring, talented town we live in! Last night’s annual tree-lighting ceremony was one of many events to celebrate our community. Thanks to all those braving the rain to sing, serve hot chocolate and cookies, and to enjoy the final lighting of the large tree to kick off the Christmas season.

For Veterans’ Day, I attended the activities hosted by the Philomath Scout Lodge, another amazing facility serving our community. More veterans were inducted into the Hall of Fame with fitting honors to their sacrifices on our behalf. At that event the Philomath Middle School choir sang the national anthem in close harmony and with no accompaniment. They were amazing!

Many thanks to our teachers, school administrators and community leaders who are helping make this the warm, welcoming town it is!
