To the Editor:
On behalf of the Philomath Community Gleaners, I would like to thank the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians for its generous grant of $2,000 to our group to buy food in May 2022.
We have used this money to buy food from Linn-Benton Food Share and other sources for very low prices. Our group has nearly doubled in size from a year ago due to inflation and gas prices, which especially hurts lower-income folks. We currently have 475 members (including 182 children under age 17), up from 263 members in July 2021.
The generosity of the Siletz tribe has truly been a blessing to our group.
