To the Editor:
Philomath Community Gleaners would like to thank the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians for its generous May 2023 grant of $3,000 for food expenses to our group.
We have had a recent upsurge in membership due to increased food and shelter costs. Currently we have 521 members, including 65 adoptee families (elderly or disabled) and 165 children under 18.
The increase in this grant is a huge help to Philomath Gleaners, enabling us to buy much-needed nutritious food from Linn-Benton Food Share and other sources. I am always impressed when looking at the lists of Siletz Tribe donations at all the good they accomplish with their donations through these grants to organizations in multiple Oregon counties.
