The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife division is investigating the killing of two buck deer — each shot with a crossbow less than a month apart in northwestern Corvallis.
OSP is asking for the public’s help to locate the person or people responsible. The deer were found near Northwest Walnut Boulevard and Northwest Witham Hill Drive. Investigators believe the deer were shot around Oct. 25 and Nov. 18.
In Oregon, it is unlawful to hunt game mammals with a crossbow, OSP reported.
If anyone is seen carrying a crossbow in the area or if anyone has information relating to this case, contact OSP’s Albany Fish and Wildlife office via dispatch at 800-442-2068 or *OSP (*677) from a mobile phone. Reference case number SP24-383408.
Anyone with information may remain anonymous, and a TIP reward for cash or preference points will be offered for information leading to a citation or arrest.
