SATURDAY, SEPT. 24
• BCSO: Crash, 6:50 a.m., Highway 20 near milepost 41; deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that went into a ditch while avoiding hitting an animal on the highway; no injuries were reported.
• BCSO: Crash, 12:33 p.m., Kings Valley Highway and Ritner Road; deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that slowed to take a turn off Kings Valley Highway onto Ritner Road and was struck from behind; one driver sustained minor injuries.
• PPD: DUII, 11:07 p.m., 1400 block of Main Street; police arrested a 22-year-old Newport man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (unclassified).

• BCSO: Crash, 6 p.m., Highway 20 near milepost 49; deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash into a ditch; the driver reported that his vehicle had mechanical failure and locked up, which forced his vehicle across the oncoming lane and into the ditch; no injuries reported.
• PPD: Warrant arrest, 9:48 p.m., Highway 20 and Kings Valley Highway; police arrested a 57-year-old Sweet Home man on a warrant for contempt of court.
• BCSO: DUII, 10:04 p.m., Highway 34 and Gray Creek Lane; deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed into a culvert headwall; the driver was extricated with minor injuries and transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center; the driver, a 19-year-old Alsea man, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and minor in possession of liquor.
