• BCSO: Theft by deception/computer crime, 7:49 p.m., rural Philomath address; deputies took a report of a 21-year-old woman who was blackmailed into sending $500 to an unknown person.

• PPD: Assault, 3:03 p.m., South 19th Street; police arrested a 66-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault.
• PPD: Crash, 3:14 p.m., Main Street and South 11th Street; no injuries reported.

• BCSO: Assault, 7 p.m., Blodgett area; deputies arrested Rik Matthew Gassner, 48, of Blodgett, on felony charges of first-degree criminal mistreatment, strangulation and fourth-degree assault, and misdemeanor charges of attempting to commit a felony, resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault.
