Kings Valley Charter School students celebrated a pair of victories last weekend at the Rube Goldberg Machine Challenge in Corvallis.
KVCS had two teams in this year’s event at Ashbrook Independent School and both won awards. One of the teams took first place for Overall Machine — the competition’s overall winner. The other team earned the Machine Complexity award.
Rube Goldberg machines are contraptions designed to perform a simple task in an indirect or overly complicated way.
“These students have worked for the past five months on these projects and our school is so proud of them,” said Maggie Simcoe, KVCS office assistance and marketing coordinator.
The teams featured upper elementary and middle school students.
