The Benton County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse plans to host its annual horseback ride event for children with special needs and their siblings from 10-11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Benton County Fairgrounds’ indoor arena.
The event is sponsored by Sheriff Jef Van Arsdall.
The children are helped onto the horse and led around the arena. Special accommodations are in place for mounting/dismounting and safety while on horseback. Riders must be 3-18 years of age and be able to hang on by themselves.
Photographs are taken in front of a green screen and printed with a western background to give to the child. They will also be available online after the event for those who give permission to post them. A release form is required for all riders and will be available at the event registration table. No preregistration is needed.
