A property owner outside of Brownsville discovered skeletal remains while clearing brush on Friday morning, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The call to law enforcement came in at 9:38 a.m. Feb. 9, Sheriff Michelle Duncan said. The property is located on rural acreage off of Highway 228.
Deputies confirmed that a human skull had been found and launched an investigation to try to determine the cause of death, how long it had been there and the identity of the individual.
