The Philomath City Council plans to hire a new finance director during its regular meeting on Monday. That’s one item that stands out on a busy agenda for a meeting scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. through videoconferencing.
Prior to the regular meeting, the City Council will meet in a work session at 5:30 p.m. to perform a candidate question-and-answer session. Longtime finance director Joan Swanson resigned this past summer.
Three public hearings are scheduled are scheduled for the meeting:
• Comprehensive Plan and zone map amendments based on an application submitted by a local businessman.
• City code amendments related to landscaping, fences and hedges.
• City code amendments related to industrial zone building standards.
Representatives from Cascades West Council of Governments plan to give a presentation on a regional transportation plan.
The council is also scheduled to resume a discussion on the city’s Comprehensive Plan economic opportunity analysis report. Ordinances up for a vote will be a second reading on amending city code to reference adopted system development charge methodology reports and a first reading of a Comp Plan amendment to approve a housing needs analysis as a support document. A vote on a resolution to update SDC rates is also on the agenda.
