The Maltby Creek Bridge on Highway 34 about 4 miles west of Alsea will be getting a new timber deck next week, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced.
In connection with the project, which has been delayed by issues securing needed materials, the highway will see closures. Single-lane closures with flaggers directing traffic will occur June 20-21 between 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The single-lane closures will include 24-hour flagging beginning at 8 a.m. June 22. The highway will be closed entirely at 8 a.m. June 23 with plans to reopen it at around 3 p.m. June 26.
ODOT said that while the bridge is closed, motorists can use Highway 20 and U.S. 101 to get around the work zone.
