The Philomath High School girls tennis team swept the four singles matches and took three of four in doubles to post a 7-1 victory on Tuesday over Lebanon.
All four of Philomath’s singles players won in impressive fashion. Sophomore Bailey Bell dominated her opponent in a 6-0, 6-0 win. Freshman Adele Beckstead was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 2. Sophomore Daniella Carlisle took the win at No. 3 by a 6-0, 6-1 margin. And at No. 4, sophomore Megan Reese took down her opponent, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, senior K Bacho and junior Phoebe Dodson took care of their opponents, 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 1 slot. Sophomores Lorelei Schell and Nadia Durski were 6-3, 6-0 winners at No. 2. Sophomore Elise Reese and freshman Heidi Bacho downed their opponents, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).
The PHS girls are now 2-0 with the other win coming on March 17 over West Albany.
The team is scheduled to host Marist Catholic on Friday at 4 p.m. The team then gets into league competition next week with an April 5 trip to Madras.
