The Philomath High School girls tennis team played a tuneup match before next week’s district tournament Thursday against McKay and came away with a 7-1 victory.

The Warriors swept the singles matches with victories by Bailey Bell (6-0, 6-0), Adele Beckstead (6-0, 6-0), Megan Reese (7-5, 6-4) and Makayla Lillie (6-2, 6-3).

Philomath won three of the four doubles matches with the wins by Daniella Carlisle and Nadia Durski (6-1, 6-2), Mia Cook and Stella Neville (6-0, 6-0) and Olivia Cole and Lillian Hansen (7-6, 6-3).

Philomath is scheduled to open play in the Special District 2 tournament at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Estacada, weather permitting.
