The Philomath High School girls tennis team pulled off a doubleheader sweep on Saturday at a Junction City duals tournament with a 7-1 victory over Klamath Union and an 8-0 shutout over the host school.
That one loss for the Warriors came in a rematch of last season’s 4A Showcase Tournament championship match. Klamath Union sophomore Patricia Dougherty handed Philomath sophomore Bailey Bell her first loss this season, 6-2, 6-1. Bell won her match, 6-0, 6-0, over Junction City’s Sariana Outman.

Sophomore Megan Reese defeated her Klamath Union opponent 6-2, 6-1, and won by forfeit vs. Junction City at No. 4 singles.
The Warriors swept eight doubles matches with none of those going beyond two sets. Junior Phoebe Dodson and senior K Bacho in the No. 1 slot had wins of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-0. At No. 2, sophomores Nadia Durski and Lorelei Schell downed their opponents 6-2, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-4. Juniors Stella Neville and Dristi Patel had wins of 6-4, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
