Philomath High School graduate Austin Gerding earned a spot on the dean’s list for the winter term at Eastern Oregon University.

Gerding, who is attending EOU on a baseball scholarship, was announced as one of 157 student-athletes to make the dean’s list. To qualify, a student must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the duration of the term.

Gerding, son of Rick and Tricia Gerding, graduated with Philomath High’s Class of 2017.

Gerding has sophomore eligibility with the Mountaineers, transferring to the school from Chemeketa Community College. He is majoring in health and human performance.
