Detectives arrested a 47-year-old Florence man on Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run incident that seriously injured an Oregon State University student on Sept. 26 in the intersection of Northwest 26th Street and Northwest Harrison Boulevard in Corvallis.

Corvallis Police detectives received an anonymous tip on Oct. 13 related to the vehicle of interest in the case. After the vehicle was found, a search warrant was issued to seize, search and analyze it for evidence of the crash.

The investigation led to the arrest of Kenneth Kreitz, who was booked into Benton County Jail on charges of reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, third-degree assault, reckless endangering another person and tampering with physical evidence.

The student, 21-year-old Aliyah Lopez, suffered traumatic injuries, police said.
