The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Benton County until 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas are anticipated.
Rain has been falling throughout Sunday in the Philomath area as a slow-moving front moves across the region from Newport to Corvallis to Detroit. Rain, heavy at times, is expected to continue along the front through Sunday evening.
The region also remains under a flood watch until 10 a.m. Monday, according to the NWS. The Marys River at Philomath is among the areas of highest concern to reach minor flood stage.
As of 4 p.m., the Marys River was at 16.85 feet and is expected to crest at 18.53 feet on Monday morning.
The Marys River is considered to be at flood stage at 20 feet and major flood stage at 21 feet.
