FRIDAY, OCT. 24
• 5:50 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a tree fire in the 6000 block of Southwest Airport Avenue. Upon arrival, the crew located unattended burn piles and spoke with a property representative with guidance.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 8:33 a.m. (South 18th Street), 8:46 a.m. (North 19th Street) and 7:09 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).
SATURDAY, OCT. 25
• 12:48 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of power lines down at Main Street and Newton Street. Upon arrival, the crew found a pole with a fuse blown and a small branch hanging from the lines. Information was forwarded to the power company.
• 1:15 p.m. — Firefighters responded to the activation of a fire alarm at Clemens Primary School. No threats to the school were found.
• 1:34 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a tree fire on Greenberry Road. Upon arrival, the crew found a power line that had fallen on the roadway due to high wind and falling limbs. Some sparking and smoldering were seen at multiple points. The scene was secured with traffic control and the identification of hazard zones.
• 10:39 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched via mutual aid to a report of a small fire at Hoskins Road and Luckiamute Road. It was determined that a small fire had been ignited by downed lines in the woods northeast of Hoskins Road. The fire was limited to a small area around direct contact with the live power line. Firefighters collaborated with the Hoskins-Kings Valley Rural Fire Protection District to secure the area. The fire was extinguished when the power company arrived and cut power.

SUNDAY, OCT. 26
• 9:06 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of power lines down in the 23000 block of Neuman Road. According to a report, a tree had fallen over two live power lines that were blocking the roadway and smoldering. The crew worked with the power company to shut off the electricity.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 7:42 a.m. (Rosecrest Drive), 5:32 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive) and 10:14 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).
MONDAY, OCT. 27
• 6:10 p.m. — Firefighters conducted an odor investigation at North 19th Street and College Street. The crew determined that the odor was due to smoke from a neighbor’s chimney.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 1:35 p.m. (Rosecrest Drive).
TUESDAY, OCT. 28
• 7:56 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched on a mutual aid call to provide additional personnel to help an ambulance transporting a patient to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 29
• No calls of public significance reported.

THURSDAY, OCT. 30
• 12:44 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a small fire in the trees along Airport Avenue. On route, crews were notified by the Oregon Department of Forestry that they had a permitted burn in the area. Crews continued to the scene to confirm that it was the ODF burn and advised dispatch that it may receive more calls for the location.
• 5:51 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of small burn piles along the road in the 2300 block of Main Street. Crews arrived to find two small smoldering burns that were permitted earlier in the day. Due to very little threat of spreading, no further action was taken.
• 9:32 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke detector that was sounding in an apartment in the 1200 block of Pioneer Street. Dispatch reported that there were no signs of a fire but the smell of smoke was coming from the apartment. Crews entered the residence through an open window and found a stove with two burners on that had pans on them. The appliance was shut off and the pans were moved to outside of the apartment. No occupants of the apartment were found. The Philomath Police Department investigated after smoke had been cleared.
