The College United Methodist Church will hold its Special Advent Worship Service on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 10:30 a.m. The service marks the beginning of the Advent season, the four-week period of preparation leading up to Christmas. The church is located at 1123 Main St.

The Philomath chapter of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 9 a.m. Mondays at Peace Lutheran Church with weigh-in preceding the meeting from 8:30-9 a.m.

The Benton County Board of Commissioners typically meet for regular meetings at 9 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays each month at the Kalapuya Building. Holidays and special events occasionally forces the board to move a regular meeting to another date.
