Chalk Roundup at the Library

Each year the Philomath Library hosts the Frolic Chalk Round-up in front of the library building. Upon arriving, artists of all ages, abilities, and imaginations register and given a 5 ft. x 5 ft. section of sidewalk to color. All chalk is provided, but participants may use their own as well. This is not so much a competition as it is an opportunity to have some fun, be creative, and show off your artwork to the community during the rest of Frolic weekend.

This year’s event is Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Rodeo Queen and Princess will be judging winners at 11:00am.
No pre-registration required.
No fee for participation.

The top artists from each age group will receive the following prizes:

0-5 $10 Dairy Queen Gift Card
6-12 $10 Dairy Queen Gift Card
13-17 $20 Frolic & Rodeo Souvenir Shack gift certificate
18-97 $20 Frolic & Rodeo Souvenir Shack gift certificate

This year, the Frolic is celebrating its 72nd anniversary, and the theme is “Frolic in the USA”
