Sophomores Riley Barrett and Porter Compton continued their torrid start to the season at the Crabpools on the Coast wrestling tournament Thursday at Florence. The grapplers each added three wins to their season record with Barrett now 14-0 and Compton at 13-1.

Freshman Wyatt Barrett, freshman Odin Compton, sophomore Liam Bennett and sophomore Derick Kohn also had perfect appearances with 3-0 records. Senior Acacia Gonzalez-Bush at 3-0 and Ellie Morton at 2–0 were unbeaten in the girls’ portion of the tournament.

Winning two of three matches in the tournament, which was hosted by Siuslaw High School, were sophomore Lake Mulberry, junior River Sandstrom, sophomore Lukas Hernandez, junior JJ Lewis and sophomore Brayden Williams. Junior Brady Russell and junior Ryder Zitlau also posted wins.

Complete results of the tournament were not available.

Joining Philomath and Siuslaw were Sutherlin, Gold Beach, North Bend, Oakland, Sheridan, Marshfield and Coquille.

The Warriors are not scheduled to compete again until after New Year’s with a Jan. 4 trip to a meet at Yamhill-Carlton.
