Philomath High School’s girls soccer team saw three of its players earn spots on the Oregon West’s all-conference first team — junior forward Kamilla Grimmer, senior forward Elizabeth Morales and sophomore defender Natalie Dunn.
Grimmer had an exceptional season offensively for the Warriors with 24 goals. During one stretch in October, Grimmer had a hat trick in four straight games and she finished the season with five hat tricks in all.
Morales was also a key player on the offensive end whether setting up teammates, scoring goals or placing corner kicks — one of which she scored a goal on in a win over Sweet Home. Dunn anchored an effective defensive unit for the Warriors, which allowed only 10 goals all season and recorded nine shutouts.
The all-conference team is split up into field players, defenders and goalkeepers.
The second team included four more Philomath players with junior Bailey Bell and freshman Ana Candanoza making it as field players, sophomore Melea Lattin earning a spot as a defender and senior Hailie Couture getting the nod at goalkeeper.
Senior defender Izabella Nanoski earned honorable mention recognition.
In all, Philomath had eight players make the all-conference team. League champion North Marion placed nine players on the team and Newport had eight. Cascade and Sweet Home each had five and Stayton had three.
