Lilly’s Lope for Hope, the 5-kilometer race and fun run in Philomath that raises money and promotes awareness of youth suicide, is scheduled for Oct. 21.
Old Mill Center for Children and Families, which is organizing the event, is offering a $5 early bird discount for participants that register online before midnight Thursday, Oct. 5. For purchase options, go to the event’s online registration site.
Lilly’s Lope for Hope is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on that Saturday with pre-race activities, including a silent auction and on-site registration, at Philomath City Park. The timed 5K run for all ages, including those with strollers or in wheelchairs, will start at 10 a.m.
The silent auction will run until 11:30 a.m. and local agencies that serve youth and teens will also be on hand sharing information. A fun run will conclude the morning’s festivities.
Funds raised from the event help provide mental health counseling and prevention education for Philomath and Benton County youth.
