Philomath Fire and Rescue’s board of directors plans to meet for its regular monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Monday at Station 201 for an agenda that includes moving forward with the implementation of a drone program.

The board will take a look at possible approval of a drone pilot job description. The fire district’s organizational manual includes a summary of the position and possible uses of the drone, which includes aerial imaging and reconnaissance to support various activities, including at the scenes of structure fires and search-and-rescue operations.

Also on the agenda, the board is scheduled to visit topics that include conflagration income, surplus, setting the budget calendar and Special Districts Association of Oregon assessment along with updates on Master Plan survey questions, levy assistance and more.

Time is also provided for reports from the fire chief, deputy fire chief, office administrator, volunteer association, firefighter union and city liaison.The fire station is located at 1035 Main St. The meeting can also be accessed through Zoom (see the agenda for instructions).
