Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 38-year-old Prineville man Saturday on charges that included felony possession of fentanyl, the law enforcement agency reported.
Timothy Lee Smith also faces charges of providing false information to a police officer and on a warrant out of Crook County for parole violation.
According to a BCSO report, Smith was pulled over on Highway 20 about 2 miles west of Blodgett, provided a fake name to the deputy and ran into the woods. Deputies found the 5-foot-7, 175-pound man approximately one-half mile into the woods hiding 15 to 20 feet up a fir tree.
Smith was transported to Benton County Jail.
