The Benton County Health Department announced plans for a community COVID-19 vaccination event on Friday, Dec. 16, in Philomath. Vaccines for everyone ages 6 months and older and bivalent boosters for ages 5 and older will be available at the clinic, which is scheduled to run from 4-7 p.m. at Clemens Primary School.

Vaccines are available while supplies last. No appointment is needed. The flu vaccine is not available at the event and there is no vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Free COVID-19 test kits will be available to take home.

The Benton County Health Department maintains a web page with up-to-date information on upcoming vaccination events.

In addition to the Philomath clinic, the following options are available:

• Dec. 14-15 at Benton County Event Center and Fairgrounds, Guerber Building (110 SW 53rd St., Corvallis), 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

• Dec. 17 at Lincoln Elementary School (110 SE Alexander Ave., Corvallis), 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Dec. 18 at Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis (1112 NW Circle Blvd.), 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Monroe Health Center (610 Dragon Drive), call 541-766-6000 to schedule an appointment.

• Alsea Health Center (435 Alder St.), call 541-487-7116 to schedule an appointment.

All vaccination events require masks, are wheelchair accessible and have interpretation services available. Those attending are asked to bring vaccination cards (or a record that shows previous doses). There are options for those who lost their vaccination card.

The COVID-19 vaccine is free and available to all eligible people. Identification or insurance does not need to be presented to be vaccinated. The vaccinations are open to anyone, not just Oregon residents. Consent of a parent or legal guardian is required for children under the age of 15 (forms are available at all events).

In the event of inclement weather, the clinic may be rescheduled or canceled.

The Benton County Health Department advises those who would like to receive both the COVID-19 and flu vaccines at the same time, visit their local pharmacist or medical provider.
