The Benton County’s developmental diversity program will move to the county’s Sunset Building at 4077 SW Research Way in Corvallis next week and reopen at that site on Feb. 27, officials announced.

The office will be closed Feb. 22-24 to complete the move.

The program has been working from its current leased space on 2420 Professional Drive in Corvallis since October 2015. Since then, officials said the program has expanded to meet the growing needs of the community and has outgrown its current space.

The move will provide more space for the program to better serve clients and bring staff closer to peers in other county programs, officials said.

“We have worked closely with our partners at the Health Department throughout the pandemic,” Developmental Diversity Division Manager Jasper Smith said. “Being co-located with them offers many opportunities for the future. We will also be close to other community partners such as vocational rehabilitation to support people with disabilities in accessing jobs that contribute to the community.”

The Benton County developmental diversity program provides support for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that meet state criteria for eligibility.
