Philomath residents will have an opportunity to learn about proposed utility rate changes and share their feedback with city councilors during a Councilor Coffee session this Saturday.

The informal gathering will take place from 9:30-11 a.m. at Timber Towne Coffee with community members welcome to drop in anytime during that window. The city will provide complimentary coffee.

City councilors plan to discuss utility rate updates currently under consideration and gather public input before finalizing the proposals. The City Council will hold a formal public hearing on the rate changes during its Dec. 8 meeting.

Officials said the coffee chat format offers a more relaxed and inviting atmosphere for community conversations compared to the formal setting of a council meeting’s public hearing.

More information about the event is available on the city’s website at philomathoregon.gov/city-council/page/councilor-coffee-potential-quorum.
