The Philomath City Council plans to get together for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 8 through videoconferencing.
The agenda includes the latest information involving two key upcoming projects on the city’s horizon — the Downtown Safety and Streetscapes Project and the construction of a new water treatment plant.
Two public hearings are scheduled to take place during the meeting. The council invites the public to comment on proposed changes to the city’s building permit program fee schedule. The other hearing involves an alley vacation request in connection with a new winery tasting room to be located at 1529 Main Street.
Following the public hearings, the council will consider a resolution to adopt the building permit program fees and look at the first reading of an ordinance to vacate the alley.
For more information, read the public hearing documents at ci.philomath.or.us/publichearings or contact the city manager’s office (541-929-6148).
Testimony can be given by signing up to speak at the meeting or by submitting written comments.
To sign up to speak at the hearing, contact the city recorder at ruth.post@philomathoregon.gov or by calling 541-929-6148 no later than 4 p.m. Monday.

Also on Monday’s agenda: Appointment of a 2021-22 budget officer, consideration of a jurisdictional transfer of South 13th Street from Benton County to the city, a street light account request from the North F Street Road District, Samaritan Award nominations and committee reports.
The public hearing will be held through Zoom. Those participating will be provided with a link prior to the meeting. Others can watch the live feed of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page.
Preceding the regular meeting, councilors are scheduled to meet for a work session at 5:30 p.m., to review the city’s Strategic Plan.
