The Philomath City Council plans to discuss and possibly vote on recommended code language changes to expand notification requirements related to development-related applications.

The Planning Commission recommended the changes, which includes a requirement to notify a larger radius or area properties to receive notification of an upcoming project. Also, certain types of applications would trigger the city to post information at the site.

A public hearing on the proposed city code amendments will take place near the beginning of the meeting.

According to the agenda, the council also plans to consider ratifying a collective bargaining agreement with the Philomath Police Personnel Association, adopting an updated employee handbook, adopting a proposed salary schedule and cost-of-living adjustment for nonrepresented and management employees, and approving a proposed employee agreement renewal with the city manager.

Councilors will begin the evening with an executive session at 5:30 p.m. as allowed under state statute for labor negotiator consultations. Executive sessions are closed to the public, limited only to the stated discussion and with no decisions through a vote.

For those not attending in person at City Hall, the regular meeting will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
