The Philomath City Council will meet for a second time this month at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

The agenda includes the awarding of a design services contract for Skirvin Park improvements, approval of the 2024-28 Strategic Plan document and discussions on a proposed tree canopy project and the possibility of establishing a policy to support new community events through funding.

The Skirvin Park improvements include new grandstands, lighting, pathways and restrooms in the rodeo grounds portion of the property. A request for proposals for design-build services brought in two potential contractors with staff recommending Gerding Builders.

The council is also scheduled to discuss whether to provide a letter of support to Pioneer Connect for a grant and get an update on participating with a booth in the Philomath Farmers’ Market.

For those not attending the meeting in person, it will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
