The Music in the Park series raised $1,670 in donations from seven concerts this summer, city officials announced.

The money will go to the Philomath School District’s Philomath Performing Arts Benefit Fund. The total was $370 more than what was collected during the 2021 concert season. Beyond donations from concertgoers, several of the performing bands contributed as well by asking that their stipends go toward the fund.

Performing arts within the school district includes concert band, jazz band, choir and theater at various grade levels. Established in 2017, the organization’s stated mission it to “build an endowment fund to provide additional, perpetual financial support for the performing arts in the Philomath schools to maintain strong, enriching programs for the students and families in our community.”
