The city’s Public Art Ad Hoc Committee plans to meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, to continue its discussions on art elements related to the upcoming Downtown Safety and Streetscapes Project.

Large, round, metal sidewalk inserts that reflect the area’s history, culture or significance are on the agenda with the committee tasked with selecting a vendor for design and fabrication. The committee’s recommendation would then be forwarded to the City Council.The committee’s agenda also includes a discussion on next steps on the horizon, topics that could include bike racks, concrete plinth design, etc.

Committee members will meet virtually through Zoom. The public can watch a live stream of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page.
