The Philomath Inclusivity Committee plans to take a look at social service agency funding at its Tuesday, Jan. 25 meeting, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The city annually allocates a portion of its budget to distribute among social service agencies that serve the community. Recent discussions led to the City Council requesting that the Inclusivity Committee look at the current policy, including the processes in place for soliciting and reviewing funding applications and the allocation of funds.
A social service funding policy dates back to 2000 with revisions in 2002 and 2012.
Also on the agenda, the committee plans to determine how to proceed with restarting a discussion on goals and objectives. The possibility of creating an “Inclusivity Calendar” is also among the talking points.
The committee also plans to review a draft version of a proclamation related to Black History Month, which is coming in February, and send recommendations to the City Council.
The ad-hoc committee will be meeting for the first time since Oct. 26.
The city provides live-streaming of meetings on its Facebook page.
