The city of Philomath announced this week that applications are now being accepted for two grant programs designed to support local social services and tourism promotion efforts.
Organizations have until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, to submit applications for either Social Service Agency Funding or the Transient Lodging Tax Grant Program.
The Social Service Agency Funding program targets nonprofit and governmental organizations that provide critical services to Philomath residents. The city has identified several funding priorities, including programs that support underserved populations, address homelessness and housing insecurity, and provide mental health and wellness services.
The program can allocate up to 35% of the city’s State Revenue Sharing funds annually to qualifying projects.
The Transient Lodging Tax Grant Program offers a separate funding stream for organizations working to promote tourism or develop tourism-related facilities within the city. Eligible applicants include verified nonprofits, service organizations and businesses whose projects align with tourism goals outlined in the city’s Strategic Plan.
TLT funding comes from taxes collected on short-term lodging stays and is specifically designated to enhance the city’s appeal to visitors.
