The city of Philomath needs to fill openings on three committees and is currently accepting applications from its citizens.

The vacancies to be filled include seats on the Planning Commision, Budget Committee and Inclusivity Committee.

Seven citizens sit on the Planning Commission, which makes decisions related to zoning, land use and development. The group meets once per month as needed. The person appointed to the seat will serve out the remainder of a term that expires at the end of this calendar year.

On the Budget Committee, there are seven citizen volunteers along with city councilors and the mayor. The group meets several times in the spring and receives budget updates throughout the year. The available position expires at the end of 2024.

The Inclusivity Committee is made up of four citizen volunteers and three city council members. The available position expires at the end of 2024.

More information and applications are available on the city’s website. Applications can be submitted through the online form or citizens can request a paper application by contacting the city recorder at ruth.post@philomathoregon.gov or 541-929-6148.

Completed applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 6 for consideration. The mayor and City Council will make appointments at the Feb. 13 meeting.
