The Philomath City Council plans to meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at City Hall with an agenda that includes a continued discussion and possible decision on the hiring of a city attorney and prosecutor.
The council interviewed two firms for city attorney and one firm for prosecutor services during a special meeting Oct. 30.
Also on the agenda for councilors is an update and possible changes to the 2023-24 Strategic Plan and deciding on the process to implement for conducting community surveys.
The meeting is scheduled to begin with a Veterans Day presentation by Dean Aithwaite of the Willamette Valley Responder Chaplains. The agenda also includes discussion on an endorsement letter related to Indigenous Peoples Day, adopting a corrected utility billing rate for school irrigation and a city management report.
Councilors are also planning to meet in executive session as allowed under state statute to consult legal counsel regarding current litigation or litigation likely to be filed and performance evaluations of public officers and employees. Executive sessions are closed to the public, limited only to the stated discussion and with no decisions through a vote allowed.
For those not attending in person at City Hall, the regular meeting will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
