Philomath residents with an interest in volunteering for the city’s Inclusivity Committee are invited to complete an application for one of the six available citizen representative seats.

The committee includes six city councilors along with the six citizens. Those selected would join Mayor Chas Jones and councilors Jessica Andrade and Teresa Nielson.

The Inclusivity Committee was established by the Philomath City Council in 2020 to address justice, equity, diversity and inclusivity issues. The committee meets bi-monthly or more as needed. Terms are for two years.

Applications are particularly encouraged from members of historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQ community members and others who demonstrate the ability to help the committee achieve its vision of a diverse and inclusive community.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. March 31. The City Council and mayor plan to make appointments at their April 12 meeting.

An online application is available at this link on the city’s website.

For more information or to receive a paper application form, contact the city recorder at ruth.post@philomathoregon.gov or 541-929-6148.
