The Philomath High School cheer squad is hosting a Bingo Night and Silent Auction fundraiser at 6 p.m. Friday to raise money for a trip to Las Vegas this coming January for the JAMZ School Cheer Nationals.
The April 12 event includes a spaghetti dinner. Tickets are $25 at the door and include dinner, two bingo cards and a silent auction bidding number. For children ages 12 and under, tickets cost $10 and include dinner and one bingo card, or $5 for dinner only. Additional bingo cards can be purchased for $10 each.
The PHS cheerleading program is coming off its best-ever finish at state with third place in February’s competition in Oregon City, a feat accomplished by a team of all underclassmen. Juniors Cali Cannon, Kaylie Kohler, Olivia Rice, Tatum Pope and Zoe Ringwald, sophomore Josey Schreiber, and freshmen Emily Garcia, Erynn Kohler and Ciara Seits competed for the Warriors at state.
Kathy Kohler serves as the head coach.
The nationals competition is scheduled for Jan. 24-25 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. All-school show cheer divisions are scheduled for both days. There are also divisions for sideline performance cheer, group stunt, partner stunt and all-school dance.
