Bull riders from across the country will converge on Philomath this Saturday for a stop on the Challenge of Champions Tour, a traveling bull-riding series making a stop in Philomath.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo grounds. The doors open at 5 p.m.
Tickets prices appear to vary from $22 in advance to $25 at the door, according to an event poster. However, online ticket listings show adult admission at $26.06 in advance (includes processing fee) and $28.50 at the gate.
The Challenge of Champions Tour has produced bull-riding events since 2009, growing from a single hometown venue into a circuit of more than 20 stops across seven Western states, according to the tour’s website. The lineup draws professional riders with credentials from the Professional Bull Riders tour, the National Finals Rodeo and top regional circuit finals, along with collegiate competitors.
The event also typically features junior bull riders, a category the tour uses to give young riders a chance to compete and develop their skills alongside more experienced professionals.
Tour organizers describe their mission as preserving Western heritage while presenting family-friendly, professional-caliber events, with proceeds supporting the communities that host them.
