Philomath Fire & Rescue’s board of directors will meet at 3 p.m. Monday, May 8 at Station 201 with plans to hold a public hearing on the proposed 2023-24 fiscal year budget that appropriates $2.9 million for fire protection.
Following the public hearing, the five-member board is expected to consider separate resolutions to adopt the budget and levying a tax rate of $2.0080 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Also on the agenda, the board will discuss an updated contract with Fire Chief Chancy Ferguson, go through a board self-appraisal and hear an update on the sale of the district’s Light Rescue 224 vehicle to the Dallas-based Southwest Polk Fire District.
Various other items of business as well as routine reports are also part of the meeting.
