A new coffee shop in Adair Village announced a partnership with Daxbot to deliver java to customers in that community. The first cup is scheduled to be delivered on Wednesday, Good Grounds Coffee owner Susan Arredondo said.

“I chose to get a Daxbot as another option for the neighborhood to get our coffee, another way to serve,” Arredondo said. “Daxbot is also a local company, so getting to partner with them is really exciting. Being such a small community, we don’t get to experience many of these fun and exciting innovations. To have him cruising down the streets of Adair will bring some joy and smiles to those who see him.”

The coffee shop just opened for business in that community on Nov. 1. Of course, Good Grounds will also have humans serving coffee over the counter and at a drive-thru from its location at 6020 NE William R. Carr Ave.

Naturally, most of us here in Philomath are well aware of the cute Dax robots roaming around our neighborhoods delivering food and other items from participating businesses. Dax delivers from La Rockita, Timber Towne, Dirt Road Brewery, Subway and Philomath Market during participating hours.

Dax also does deliveries in Monmouth from Yang’s Teriyaki, The Sippery, Koyote’s Tacos, Donut Bar and Valsetz Dining.

Earlier today, I actually enlisted Dax’s help to deliver lunch to my son, who is celebrating his fifth birthday (that’s him in the accompanying photo). Last year on his fourth birthday, Dax delivered donuts to his preschool.
